— Timber Restoration & Protection

WOOD STAINING
& REFINISHING
BERMUDA

Restore and protect your decks, fences, trim, and interior timber with premium stains and sealers built for Bermuda's climate. Beautiful results that last.

— What We Do

BRING YOUR
TIMBER BACK
TO LIFE

Bermuda's UV radiation, humidity, and salt air are relentless on exposed timber. Decks turn grey and silvery, fences crack and splinter, and untreated wood deteriorates rapidly. The right stain or sealer doesn't just restore the look — it creates a protective barrier that slows this process significantly.

T&H Painting selects stains and sealers matched to the specific timber species, its condition, and its exposure level — ensuring the product penetrates correctly and lasts as long as possible in Bermuda's demanding conditions.

HOW IT WORKS

01
Assessment

We assess the timber species, current condition, and previous treatments. We recommend the most appropriate stain or sealer system and provide a written quote.

02
Strip & Clean

Old failing stain or paint is removed by sanding, chemical stripping, or pressure washing. The timber is cleaned thoroughly and allowed to dry fully.

03
Sand & Prep

Surfaces are sanded to open the wood grain and ensure maximum stain penetration. Any damaged or raised grain is addressed before application.

04
Stain Application

Premium stain or sealer is applied by brush, roller, or spray — using the method that best suits the timber and product for maximum even coverage.

05
Second Coat & Seal

A second coat is applied for deeper colour and added protection. End grains and exposed joints receive extra attention. Final cure advice is provided.

— Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED

For timber decks and fences, staining is usually the better choice. Stains penetrate the wood grain and protect from within, while paint sits on the surface and can peel as the wood expands and contracts. Stain also highlights the natural wood grain, which is often more attractive than an opaque painted surface.

Bermuda's strong UV, high humidity, and salt air mean deck stains typically need refreshing every 2–4 years depending on the product used, the wood species, and how exposed the deck is. We assess your deck's condition during the free consultation.

Yes. We can strip existing paint or stain using sanders, strippers, or pressure washing, then prepare the surface and apply fresh stain or sealer. Old, grey, weathered timber can often be dramatically restored to look almost new.

We stain and refinish decks, fences, gates, pergolas, exterior window frames and shutters, interior timber features, stairs, and handrails. If it's wood and it needs protecting, we can treat it.

Yes. We stain interior timber floors, staircases, handrails, beams, and feature timber elements. Interior stains and oils are carefully chosen to be low-odour and appropriate for living spaces.
